NYU School of Medicine Clinical Update

An examination of the practical aspects of established CT, MR, US, PET and IR techniques. Lecture topics include Abdominal, Emergency, Thoracic, Cardiac, Neuroradiology, Pediatric, Musculoskeletal, IR, Breast and PET imaging.

An Overview of State-of-the-Art Imaging Methods

NYU’s Head to Toe Imaging offers an intensive review of Neurologic, Musculoskeletal, Pediatric, Abdominal, Thoracic, Cardiac, Breast, Emergency, PET/CT and Interventional Radiology, with additional focus on safety and quality issues, including radiation exposure and contrast reactions and their management, crossing all sub specialty areas. The program will help you better:

      • Evaluate and incorporate current imaging techniques and protocols for sub-specialty imaging into clinical practice to enable accurate diagnosis, dictate best therapy options, and assess response to therapy which may prompt therapy modification as needed
      • Describe the latest lung cancer CT screening process, including appropriate CT dose settings and structured reporting and management
      • Develop strategies to optimize and incorporate a gamut of studies, including CT, MR and PET, in order to accurately stage neoplasms with minimal cost and radiation exposure
      • Describe how digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) can be used to help increase breast cancer detection while decreasing ‘false positive’ recalls
      • Develop a strategy for patients to optimize radiation safety and dose reduction through optimizing CT protocols and techniques as well as utilizing MR imaging in appropriate patient populations
